Sir Alex Ferguson, the Manchester United manager has called on Wayne Rooney to try and break the 42 goals record set by Cristiano Ronaldo now that Rooney has hit 30 goals. He said ''It's a challenge. I was happy with him getting to the 30 mark, to be honest, but he just keeps improving and tonight he was sensational.''

On how his team overcame Milan by a 4-0 victory, he said ''It was a marvellous second-half performance. 'We played very, very well. When we play at that tempo, we're difficult to play against and it was a really solid performance. With that kind of team I've got it doesn't matter who we play."
