alt Avram Grant, the manager of Portsmouth has slammed the broken promises made by those in charge of the club which has since caused the club to go into administration. Grant said that he expects that ‘there will be more surprises’ and that if the club was run as he expected, they will not have to retained to the fact that they will most likely be relegated.

He said  "You don't need a big imagination to see we would have at least ten more points if the club had kept even 50% of its promises to me. When I came, I said there were two or three things we needed to do. But then other things happened and we didn't do what we'd agreed. I said we needed to sign three or four more players in January but it turned out the club wanted to sell four players. Maybe it was a joke I didn't understand. But I came here to be a football manager and I haven't been able to do my job. It would have been very easy for me to leave in January. I only stayed because of the fans and the players. Football is not just about points. It's about passion and emotions. Sometimes you take decisions from the heart. My heart told me to stay. I have no influence on events away from the pitch and I'm as confused as everyone else. But I am sure there will be more surprises. I am doing everything I can to save them. But it's not in my hands.”
