| Turkey announces Provisional Squad list |

The date for the kickoff of the UEFA EURO 2008 is drawing near. On 28 May 2008, the final list of squad members must be submitted to UEFA. Turkey coach Fatih Terim has since submitted his 26 man provisional list for the tournament. one man seemed to be missing, that is none other than Hakan Sukur. This came with much surprise from the country all over as Hasan Sukur has not retired from international football or even voice a desire to do so. He has so far been playing eight times to help Turkey qualify for EURO 2008. His resume includes the squad in two EUROs which was in 1996 and 2000 and he was also in the squad for the 2002 World Cup.
The Turkey team will be staging 3 friendly games as pre-tournament preparations where they will be playing Finland, Uruguay and Slovakia. Sukur aside, Hamit Altintop, the player from Bayern Munich with a broken foot has been included. Midfielders: Mehmet Aurélio (Fenerbahçe SK), Mehmet Topal (Galatasaray AŞ), Emre Belözoğlu (Newcastle United FC), Tümer Metin (Larissa FC), Yıldıray Baştürk (VfB Stuttgart), Hamit Altıntop (FC Bayern München), Ayhan Akman (Galatasaray AŞ), Arda Turan (Galatasaray AŞ), Tuncay Şanlı (Middlesbrough FC), Kazım Kazım (Fenerbahçe SK), Gökdeniz Karadeniz (FC Rubin Kazan).
