Ibrahimovich scores the equalizer
It was either Spain was lucky or that Sweden just slept off in the end, but the last minute goal by David Villa was a world class finish no one can say otherwise. It was one of the days when Spain could barely get their feet going, but Sweden was all over the place. Spain could not even make any decent passes to begin with. Full backs like Sergio Ramos was ineffective who eventually allowed the Swedes to equalize after a lucky tap in by Fernando Torres. But it was Ibrahimovich who made the headlines with his superb composure in front of the Spain goalmouth that gave make the fans stand up and cheered their team on. After that, it was Sweden who played with more heart but the strange substitution of Ibrahimovich which left the Swedes without their venom up front. The later game saw Russia, who was less than impressive in their first game against Spain played with a more lethal strike and managed a goal against Greece who as defending champions are now effectively out of the tournament. Never before had any team defended the title 2 years in a row so this is no different for the Greeks, so its goodbye champions for now and Russia hangs on to a hope of advancing when they play Sweden who will both need to win their next game.

Tonight’s clashes – Czech Republic vs Turkey – Tactical vs Messiness

The Czech Republic plays a highly structured game as they always do and no one knows who will be playing up front. It can either be Koller who is always dangerous while Milan Baros is always terrifying defence when he is playing, or if both, then the Turks will be facing a major battle. Turkey who do not seemed to have any structures so far seemed to be a lost cause at the moment, and with both needing to win the games, the Czech might need all their experience they’ve got.

Portugal vs Switzerland – Superiority vs Inferiority

This is where Portugal is better. They are better in every department there is as compared to the Swiss, who without Frei have lost most of their motivation and game plan. This game would be Portugal’s for the taking. Its just a matter of how many goals they want to get out of the hosts, who only have pride left to play for.
