Germany keeps the ball rolling
So the first team to check into the semi finals of the UEFA EURO 2008 has been decided. Germany, the slow starters of the tournament overcame a Portuguese onslaught but was too good for them. A lot of parties have since written off the Germans as they came up head to head against the finalist 4 years back and who played so convincingly barely turned up for their quarter finals against Germany, who by the end of the first up was leading 2-1 and turning desperate as time passes by, the Portuguese conceded another through a mistake made by Ferreira against his own team mate Michael Ballack who rose up high to head in the third goal. A goal in the dying minutes of the game did little to lift Portugal out of the dumps and although they tried and tried, the equalizer goal did not come. Even the usually illustrious Cristiano Ronaldo could do nothing to stop the top form Germans. At the end of the night, it was the Germans who was victorious and now awaits for whoever wins tonight.

Tonight’s game will be an all underdog affair.

Croatia vs Turkey – Underdogs vs Underdogs

Croatia will be going all out to fight for the last four in this one. Perhaps this would be an easier game for them but the Turks cannot be discounted as they managed to overcome their hurdles to make it this far. The Croats, who will be relishing a second meeting with Germany if they win this, should have no problem winning their game. Bilic will have his first team up and running again and they will again produce their attacking flow of football.

Turkey would most likely go on the defence and try to prowl on the counter attack, a strategy they have so successfully implemented throughout the tournament.

This game will promise lots of action and probably goals too. But the Croats should win this to meet group foes Germany in the semi-finals.
