What really matters now in the hands of Liverpool Football Club? Ownership is changing, form is changing, objectives are changing... from title contenders to what is seen as most familiar.. fighting for a place in next year's Champion's League.. sigh.. here we go again... In whatsoever circumstances, it seemed evitable that I have come to a mere standstill conclusion that Liverpool will NOT win the title this year. I kid you not, and reality checks in during the Reading game when the team lost 3 goals to 1 away. That was on the 8th of December, somewhat more than month ago (today is the 22nd of January). Hence, to say the least, it has been more than a month since I tasted the sour aroma of defeat to a lower team (no disrespect to Reading) and defeat to the Premiership title we yearn so crazily and maniacally. Having said that, nothing taste more sour than the current ownership saga that besets Liverpool Football Club. The American owners are fast becoming a nuisance and I believe that it is just a matter of time (or as a matter of fact, it has already taken place) when they are jeered of Anfield. I don’t think they would actually, in their sanest mind of minds thinking of appearing in person at the very much loved Liverpool Football Club home ground. It feels more like some kids who do not want to give up their ‘toy’ because they don’t want others to have it. Typical ain’t it. The news that Dubai International Capital are willing to absorb the debts and thereby ownership as well seemed to be refreshing, and yet the Americans seemed adamant about giving up. If they are not capable let someone else who might. No one knows if DIC can, but at least they are rich enough to be stable. In whatsoever circumstances, these news are not pleasing, and with the poor results coming from the pitch, it can seemed forever until we lay our hands on the holy grail, the Premiership title. All everyone asks for now is for solutions and really, as a fan, nothing really matters, just get the ball rolling, on the field, off the field, or just play the field. After all, it is football we are concerned about, not business, therefore all that sourness and bitterness of the business world really….is none of our business.
