First he said that he will quit in 3 years and put the responsibility onto his second man Carlos Queiroz. He even said and stressed his point that Queiroz “can speak Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, French and English..it's very handy. The joke around here is that in the dressing room the second language is English.”. but then he decided that he might just not do that. So said and decided Sir Alex Ferguson. The Manchester United manager would have spent a quarter of a century at Old Trafford if he sees out his contract in 2011. During his time there, he has brought in 18 silevrware with another European title in his cards this season and still in the FA Cup and one foot on the league title. He arrived from Aberdeen in 1986 and had some rough patches in the club including a near-sacking situation. However, he managed to pull the team together and have made it one of the most celebrated clubs in the world of the 20th century. In light of the upcoming FA Cup quarterfinals against Portsmouth, he has played down the rumours of the dateline given for this retirement to say”It is something I have said quite a bit. If your health is good and you are enjoying your job, it could be two or three years. I am not going to pigeon-hole myself on that one. It could be four years, it could be tomorrow. It is impossible to put a time limit on something like this.” Sir Alex first decided to retire back in 2005 but retracted his intention and went on to win the Premier League title. The 66 year old Scot has since been talismanic and have brought much success in his managerial role in Manchester. And he has since put Carlos Queiroz, which he brought back from Real Madrid to be in charge after he leaves. “I have a great assistant in Carlos Queiroz. He will come into the reckoning. But we have owners and a chief executive who will choose the new man in three years' time.”
