After beating Liverpool in the previous round of the FA Cup, Barnsley has been drawn to play Chelsea at home. This would be a mouth-watering fixture to say the least as far as this is concerned. Manager Simon Davies said, 'It's a fantastic draw. To win at Anfield on Saturday and then pit our wits against another fantastic club with world class players - it will be another great occasion for everybody concerned. In the quarter-finals there are seven other clubs left and they are all going to be tricky matches, so we're not wishing we drew a lower league club. What would have been worse would have been a Championship club away from home. But we've avoided that and a home draw is perfect and the fact that it's Chelsea just makes it more exciting. We've got a fantastic home record at the moment and hopefully we can continue it and get into the semi-finals.' This could be as far as the dream could go for the Tykes, who were in superb form at Anfield, but might find it harder than before to play the Blues who are much superior than their Premiership rivals. Manchester United has been drawn with another Premiership side Portsmouth, who was in fine form beating Preston North End, but United was way more superior, coming from an Arsenal thrashing of 4 goals without reply. There will also be at least a lower league side in the semi-finals with Bristol Rovers up against West Brom while Cardiff will play the winner of the Sheffield United vs Middlesbrough replay. All the games will be played on March 8th and 9th and most are quick to note that the FA Cup has not been this exciting for a while now as in the previous seasons saw most of the top flight teams dominating the competition.
