Man Utd Saved by Tevez E-mail
Thursday, 21 February 2008

It wasn't until the final minute that Manchester United managed to salvage a point at Lyon in the Champions League match last night. For most of the game was dry and barren where Man Utd were trying to score, Lyon seemed content to just sit back and defend, trying to get the Red Devils on the counter attack. And counter attack they did, when Karim Benzema, a transfer target at Old Trafford gave Lyon the lead during the 54th minute.

Sir Alex Ferguson broung Christiano Ronaldo back to the team after sitting out the last game againts Arsenal on a 4-5-1 formation that was almost clueless to the game play that was so very fine dominated the French club.

It was only when Nani came in for Scholes and Tevez in for Giggs that things began to change for the better. Attack after attack from Man Utd came but was futile and just when about the match started to head towards a draw that during the 87th minute, the equalizer came via a cross from Nani onto the silver plate for Tevez to drive it home. A draw here would be extremely advantageous to the Devils and an away goal would be valuble for them to play the French when the return leg looms.
