He was a legend, scored 174 Premier League goals in 254 games. He is talismanic as many players are for many clubs. He is Thierry Henry, and that was when he was in London playing for the Gunners. Now he is a mere shadow of what he used to be at the Nou Camp, and suggestions are fiery that he might leave after 1 season with Newcastle on the lookout. But the French national himself have disqualified all the rumours saying that he is content at Barcelona who is in the midst of a struggle with Manchester United in the Semi Finals of the Champions League. He has so far only said that Arsenal is the ‘only team in his heart’ and would be his automatic vote if he is EVER to return to the English Premier League. And that is great news for Arsene Wenger, whose team has also been a pale shadow of what they could be capable of this season. Many believe that Wenger too is on the lookout. He said that “Thierry said he is happy at Barcelona and if he comes back he will only play at Arsenal which I find really a very good statement. He is happy at Barcelona. You can never say never -- but at the moment I do not think about that [signing him again].'I think he has a lot to offer as a player. I still feel he is a world-class player and he will prove in Barcelona that he is one of their better players. Thierry is disappointed because things haven't gone as well as he would have liked them to go. The whole team in Barcelona has not worked completely, they were never in the race for the championship. Wenger had always been watching Henry and should a need arise, many would expect him to offer him some role to play at the club, he added “For me, Thierry is an efficient goalscorer - but Barca have two or three players in there. What was a little bit damaging to his success at Barcelona is that Ronaldinho has not turned up this season, so that the closest one who can play left wing is Thierry, and that is where he plays. That is not his preferred position and that is not where he is most efficient. In football, things can change quickly when you have talent, and he has plenty.'' Wenger who had been in constant contact with Henry would relish the chance to work with his best striker so far after bringing him from Juventus as a winger and turning him into one of the most lethal striker the Premiership had ever seen.
