Steve Finnan Ireland international Steve Finnan said that his future at Liverpool FC seemed to be in a limbo as the transfer window approaches its closing stages. The former Fulham defender has find himself down the pecking order after his recent hernia surgery as well as some additions to the club. Liverpool, who has been linked with a move to get Aston Villa captain Gareth Barry to the club for the last 3 months are desperate to sell players in order to fund the move and Finnan, together with some others like Xabi Alonso and Jermaine Pennant has been linked away to accumulate the £18milion price tag put on Barry by his club.
Finnan said “Limbo sounds about right, yes. I haven't got a clue, to be honest with you. I haven't played many games recently, so I honestly can't say. There is a big squad there and everyone is fighting for their place, and I just have to train well and take the chance if I get it.” On his personal sentiments of moving away, he said “You would have to ask the club. I have been trying to get into the team. I haven't played, but I will just wait and see and when the transfer window closes, we will know then. I will wait and see if I can get into the team; if not, then obviously I want to play, so we will just have to take it from there.”
