 Happier times at City
It is widely reported that Manchester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson will probably be leaving the club as early as next week. It is reported in the city that the board will not likely to allow the situation to drag on any further after so much speculations have taken place over the Swedes’ future in the club.
More so, they will want the situation to prolong up until a dateline of 15 June which was suggested by Pairoj Piempongsant, the senior aide of City owner and former Thailand Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
For leaving before his contract expires, Eriksson will stand to receive a pay-check of six month’s equivalent to his salary which is slated to be around £1million. From there he will then be able to seek greener pastures somewhere else, most likely to be in Mexico as the national coach. It has been reported that Mexico will be revealing their new coach in the coming few days.
Eriksoon’s departure would most likely be spinning off with his team of Tord Grip, his mentor and friend while Hans Backe, the assistant coach will mostly likely follow suit. Other names included in the leaving list would be Stafano Marrone, the fitness coach and Derek Fazackerley, the first-team coach. Manchester City, under the Swede finished ninth last season.
