Celtic FC won the Scottish Premier League after beating Dundee United while Glasgow Rangers lost to Aberdeen. Both team went into their matches equal on points and a win is a must for either team to clinch the title.

As the curtain came down in other leagues and the Champions League, so did it for Glasgow Rangers after a season long of fighting to get the crown of the Clydesdale Bank Scottish Premier League. It was down the wire as both Glasgow teams must win to land the crown. But it was a night belonging to Celtic who have Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink to think for the 1 goal he scored against Dundee United.

Celtic started the night level in points with Rangers but was better with goal difference. But a win was mandatory. If they had drawn with Dundee and Glasgow beat Aberdeen, then it would have been the Ranger’s night.

But that was not going to happen. In the 71st minute, Jan Vannegor headed in a goal that summed up the season for the Scottish champs. A 1 goal lead would have been enough carry the team to the podium for the trophy. But it was made easier since Rangers lost their game against Aberdeen. The last time this happened to Ranger’s favour was in 2005 but this time around, Celtic proved stronger, after all, they have not lost to Dundee United in this ground for the last 100 years.

Glasgow Ranger’s who recently lost to Zenit St Petersburg in the UEFA Cup final was looking to go for the domestic double instead, but with this one out of the way, it seems that they have one domestic cup left.
