The Carling Cup Final between Tottenham

Tonight’s Carling Cup final between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotpsur would be a classic clash. Although known as the Mickey Mouse cup, an all London club final would be interesting, at lease for the bragging rights for another season.

Spurs on one side have Berbatov, and would be going all out to win this one. In the situation if Chelsea finishes at the top 4 of the league (which is most likely going to happen), they will get the automatic qualification to the UEFA cup (yet another Mickey Mouse Cup). Although they are still aiming for the 4^th Champions League spot, should they fail to do so, at least they still have a shot at Europe next season.

On the other hand, Chelsea’s season has still more to come. This could be their first cup this season with another of their foot in all other cups, with the FA Cup with Barnsley looming, a second Champions League leg game against Olympiacos at home and third at the league and pushing for anything better, Chelsea’s plate is full at the moment. They haven’t been their best so far, but the strike force partnership of Anelka and Drogba would be lethally watched after.

Whatever the case, it would be a great occasion, with the players walking out in their best designer suits and the atmosphere would be great to watch, but for whatever reason its going to be, Spurs should somehow triumph over the Blues for this clash.
