Cardiff City is at an all time at the moment. Team manager Dave Jones who will be bringing the team to their FA Cup final fixture against Premiership team Portsmouth. He has pointed out that his starlet Aaron Ramsey is tipped to be one of the top players in the region even suggesting that he could stand among the giants like Wayne Rooney.
It has been rumoured too that Sir Alex Ferguson, the Manchester United manager has been enquiring about Ramsey along side other big clubslike Chelsea and Liverpool among the few who seemed to be interested. Ramsey has been picked to play in the senior Wales team under the guidance of John Toshack and he will also be featured and watched in the FA Cup final.
Even with the numerous offers coming in for the 17 year old youngster, Jones believe that the club will hang on to their teenage prodigy until the offer becomes too good to refuse. The trade of the business is such that once there are interests from various clubs, it will be a price war between them.
Jones said that “We don't have to sell him now. But if Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal or Liverpool come calling and the price is right it's difficult to say to the kid you are not going to play with (Wayne) Rooney and (Cristiano) Ronaldo. We have been very honest since we've been at the club and if it is the right deal for the club and the player then we will do it.”
Jones is so confident of his player that he would agree straightaway that his player is up for a team with the world’s greats. He commented that “His next stage of development is to go with better players. He has his off days like any player but he's not fazed. He's not had a full season, which is helpful. If he had been in right from the start he might not be at the level he is now.”
For the Wales under 21 national team player, he would enjoy the FA Cup final more than what he did one year ago, taking his GCSE. He said “It is a really exciting time for us. I was in the middle of GCSEs last year. It was more stressful than this. I did all right in the end. I passed 10 out of 11, and only failed biology. This is more fun. It is a lot more enjoyable.” |
