The fact that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich have made plans to celebrate the Blues’ qualification to the Champions League finals in Moscow, his hometown is not going to help ease the pressure that is already sky rocketing at Stamford Bridge. Worse still, the fact that team captain John Terry had a row with assistant manager will only add to it. Avram Grant, in taking all that in stride has come out of this to make a point to the media after his team lost uncharacteristically to London rival Tottenham Hotspur. He went on to give an emotional outburst to the media that “just because we lost one game.. now, this is wrong, that I wrong. I don’t want to defend myself about this. The spirit is very good in the team, the situation is very good with the team. We’re sorry about what happened against Tottenham. I’m sorry, but we did a good job in the previous five months”. Grant is reported to be angry as well as afraid of what is going to befall him if he is to lose in the Champions League, and if they lost to West Ham at Upton Park, he will be ready by saying “if we lose tomorrow, wait with the knife a little bit. You didn’t behave too nicely. Now I don’t respect you too much because we lost one game and you’ve taken it too far. I don’t like it. You hurt my players, you hurt the players and this is not the right way.”. Rather than lashing it out at the media who in England had always have field days when a team is performing badly and also when there are rows and fights in the training ground. Perhaps Grant should start thinking of how it is like to be pressured and learn to handle them the mature way instead of lashing it out at the media
