Arsenal vs Newcastle (26 Jan 2008) - Match Preview |

Perhaps this is the biggest game this weekend. One thing for sure, this round's tie will ensure another Premiership team being eliminated. Newcastle are exuding a new found freshness with an old acquaintance with Kevin Keegan back for the 2nd time. but they have yet to establish a winning play in their game. this will take time and one thing for sure, King Kev's efforts in bringing in some new signings have so far been all to quiet. With Alan Shearer snubbing a return to St Jame's Park as the No.2 to Keegan, morale might all be too low to get a win at the intimidating Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal are filled with their own problems so far. they are no longer at the top of the table after their last draw game, their consolation that Adebayor did not go for the Africa Nation's Cup because Togo did not qualify hasn't help much after the spat with his team mate where they lost 5-1 to Spurs. this will not make things any easier.
Prediction : Newcastle could force a draw here and bring the replay back to the North East (1-1) ..
the irony really.... after this game, Arsenal will play Newcastle 3 days later at the Emirates (again!!) for a Premiership tie
