Adebayor claims he is a true Gunner E-mail

It seems that Arsenal’s exodus of players leaving the club will never end. The latest of the lot include striker Emmanual Adebayor’s claim that he is about to leave the Emirates too.

He has since came out to reinstate his commitment and to some ‘love’ for the club and that he has yet to claim for a higher salary package as per his other team mates. The Emirates Stadium has, ever since the close season experience a number of players asking for pay rise starting from Mathieu Flamini, who has since left the club after his demands were not met.

Next up is Alexander Hleb and while that is yet to be resolved, there has been claims that Adebayor too is jumping on the bandwagon. It was reported that the Togo international would be asking for a transfer request if his demands for a pay rise over the summer is not met. There has been talks too that big clubs had come knocking including AC Milan and Barcelona. He has since stated that the rumours seemed true and if they are very flattering.

With that in mind, he has also staked his claim that moving away is not something in his mind. He said “I am very happy here. Reports which suggest I have threatened to quit are rubbish. I don't know why people want to put words in my mouth. As I said on Friday, I love Arsenal and I will be here next season. I am off to Togo tomorrow but will return to Arsenal for pre-season training in July.”

Whether or not the Arsenal striker will leave over pay disputes remain to be seen as that too were the sentiments expressed by those who had left before they did.
