For the Malaysian Liverpool FC hopefuls, there was some disappointing news as it was confirmed that the captain Steven Gerrard will not be travelling with the team when they visit Bukit Jalil this coming July 16.
He will stay back in England where he continues his rehabilitation programme of an injury that saw him sit out of almost the whole half of last season. Hence, it would be up to vice-captain Jamie Carragher who will travelling with the team to Malaysia in the Asia Tour that also covers Singapore and China. Another star who is missing the trip would be new signing Luiz Suarez who is in Argentina with the Uruguayan team playing in Copa America.
